I use the control centre a lot on my iPhone. I use it to adjust the screen brightness, control my Apple TV and turn on the flashlight, just to name a few.
I was shocked to find out that many people didn’t know that it is possible to edit and add things to it, so I’m here to show you how to do it, and also let you know some of my favourite options. It will change your life, well, maybe just make doing some things quicker at least…
To start customising your control centre, simply jump into Settings, scroll down to Control Centre, hit Customise Controls and start picking the Controls you want to show up in your Control Centre.
Bugger off Apple TV Remote
My personal favourite is undoubtedly the Apple TV remote control. My phone is always in my pocket and with a simple swipe up and tap and I can start watching cat videos. I also despise the Apple TV remote…I’m always accidentally sitting on it and hitting the touchpad and fast-forwarding the video…oh the fury!
Save The iPhone Battery
Another control I use quite often is the Low Power Mode toggle, when I’m running out of juice I just hit that thing and it prolongs the life of my phone!
Record Your Screen
This one I use mainly for work but it’s super useful. The Screen Recording feature is great if I need to record a video of something happening on my screen, which is handy for reporting bugs for apps, and responsiveness issues with website designs.
Other Notable Mentions
Some others I want to mention are the Wallets shortcut, great for whipping out that movie ticket or flight boarding pass in a hurry. The calculator is always useful and the alarm shortcut is a must for getting out of bed on time.
And that’s it! Hopefully, we’ll get even more control options and maybe even third party support in iOS 12? Personally, I would like to be able to turn off my lights with my iPhone!
